Patents & IP research
Searches and charts built the way an examiner or opposing expert will read them: claim element by element, with pinpoint citations and a written search log you can defend.
Who uses it
- Patent prosecution boutiques that need search and first-draft capacity
- Litigation and licensing teams preparing invalidity or evidence-of-use positions
- In-house IP counsel screening invention disclosures before filing
Services and starting fees
Each matter is quoted at a fixed fee after we see the brief. Turnaround runs from the day the quote is accepted.
Patentability (novelty) search
Closest prior art to an invention disclosure, ranked, with a feature-by-feature comparison and a search log.
Invalidity / validity search
Art that predates an issued patent's claims, including art not cited by the examiner, with a claim chart for the strongest references.
Freedom-to-operate search
In-force patents in one jurisdiction screened against a product description, with claim-level notes on the closest hits.
Evidence-of-use claim chart
One patent's claims mapped to a target product using public documentation, datasheets and teardown material.
Patent landscape report
Filing activity by assignee, technology cluster and jurisdiction, with white-space observations.
Application drafting support
First draft of specification and claims from an invention disclosure, for review and filing by your registered practitioner.
Office action response draft
Analysis of the rejection and a draft response with claim amendments, for your practitioner's review.
Trademark clearance search (US)
Knock-out and full search of the USPTO register and common-law sources, with a risk-ranked hit list.
How we work on it
Databases
Google Patents, Espacenet, USPTO Patent Public Search and the USPTO trademark search system, plus non-patent literature where the technology calls for it. We can also work inside your firm's commercial database.
Strategy on paper
Every report lists the concepts, classification codes (CPC/IPC), date limits and search strings used, with hit counts, so the search can be repeated and challenged.
Technical depth
Electrical, electronics, telecom, software and sensor technologies are home ground. Mechanical and general engineering matters are taken on after a scoping call.
Correct legal frame
Pre-AIA and AIA date rules are applied as the priority chain requires, and each reference is labeled with the statutory basis on which it qualifies as art.
Sample work
Prior-art search report: US 9,506,340 B2, downhole quartz gauge (Sercel)
Search log with hit counts, pre-AIA and AIA analysis, ranked references not cited by the examiner, and a claim chart for claim 1.

Do you give patentability or validity opinions?
No. We deliver the search, the charts and the analysis. The opinion is given by your registered practitioner or attorney, who reviews and adopts the work.
Can you work on unpublished inventions?
Yes, under an NDA signed before anything is shared. Disclosures are kept in restricted storage and deleted at the end of the matter on request.
What if the art you find is weak?
You will be told. Reports rank references honestly, flag the gaps in any combination, and list what a further search would cover.
Send the brief. You will have a fixed quote within one business day.
Tell us what the work is, the deadline, and anything we must follow: a template, a citation style, a page limit. If it is outside what we do well, we will say so.
- Fixed fee, agreed in writing before work starts
- NDA signed before you share confidential material
- US, UK and EU matters, in US or UK English
- Revisions to the agreed scope included
